Nothing makes this a reality like sitting at the computer ALL day, laying out the various segments of our first great adventure, complete with the campgrounds/Wal-Mart's and fuel stops along the way! By segments, our travels include: Home to Mt. Rushmore, Rushmore to Glacier Nat'l Park, Glacier to Tok Alaska, Alaska Loop, Tok to Cassiar Highway to Abbotsford BC, Abbotsford to Pasco WA, Pasco to Yellowstone Nat'l Park to Pueblo CO, and Pueblo to Jonesborough TN. Most stays are overnighters with extended stays along the way for specific sites/attractions. The only dates carved in stone are at the end of the trip; we'll be attending the Newmar Int'l Rally in Pueblo CO and the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough TN.
Now - this is where we need Y'ALL'S input: please leave a comment below to let us know what we need to see along the way!!
I wonder where we'll wander ...
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

"It's Really Happening"
Those were the words I heard coming from my boss's office yesterday afternoon. As I walked into his office while trying to figure out what he meant, he said it again. "It's really happening." Still confused, I asked, "WHAT's happening?" ... and he handed me the official form, approving my retirement. Tears ...
To make it even more real, we kick-off each year with departmental "All-Hands Meeting." About 300 employees join on site and via video-conference to hear about the performance results from the previous year and plans for the current one. And what does my boss do, in front of God and everybody? Points out that MY picture is not on the staff slide because I am leaving him ... and then he extends his congratulations publicly. Tears ...
SO, I don't have to keep it quiet any more. It's officially official ... It's really happening! I am retiring after 30+ years and entering the next chapter of life. Carl and I are really going to be able to head North, to Alaska ... at our leisure. I am SO looking forward to quality time with my amazing husband. God has blessed me beyond measure. Thank you, Lord!

Where do we begin?
For several years, Carl and I have been talking about and "planning" to someday head out in Pegasus, our motorhome, and come back when we're darn good and ready. Carl retired in 2014 and we took our first LONG expedition to Washington State, and I was hooked. That was the first time I've ever seen much of these great United States. I had planned to retire in 2017 and we have been planning to head to Alaska. However, things have worked out so that I am going to be able to retire a year early ... which means we put these plans on the fast track. Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY excited and ready to get this show on the road. Where do we begin? How do I pack all my STUFF for four months on the road? What are the things/places we must see"? Send us your thoughts and suggestions. July will be here before we know it. I wonder where we'll wander ...
